The gift of children

A familiar passage that is often addressed when Christians wish to defend the truth that a child is a child from conception and that regardless of terminology or the stage of devolpment 'abortion' is MURDER!
Psalm 139:13
13For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.

So it seems that God is the author of life! Since God is the author of life, when is it our choice to not to desire life (children) or to prevent them?? Where does that come from, is it springing forth from the scriptures? Am I missing some verse which makes it clear that we are to look at children differently now?

Rather then crying out for children to change or bless our spouse, we should be like Hannah who desired a child to give to God. Isn't this what the Lord was saying in Malachi 2:15 Has not the LORD made them one? In flesh and spirit they are his. And why one? Because he was seeking godly offspring. So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith with the wife of your youth.

The cost for more children is worth it, rather then thinking 'what about this situation or that' we should seek to be resolved towards the scriptural attitude concerning children and then respond through the grace of God. I'm crushed to think of the many couples I know who aren't able to have children and can't figure how those who can, don't want them.
